The Journey
Nia Mitchell-Williams is a distinguished educational leader, executive coach, and organizational strategist with over two decades of experience driving transformative outcomes in K–12 education across multiple states. A native of LaPlace, Louisiana, she began her academic journey at the University of New Orleans, completed an Alternative Teacher Certification Program at Southern University, and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Executive Leadership at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans.
The Leadership
Throughout her career, Nia has served in high-impact leadership roles including Principal, Executive Director, Associate Director of Teaching, Learning and Leadership Development, and Dean of Students. Her leadership experience spans Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Florida, where she has led alternative and transitional schools, designed innovative programs for at-risk students, and helped create stronger academic and organizational cultures.
Today, Nia serves as an executive coach with a national nonprofit organization, partnering with leaders across multiple states to strengthen leadership capacity, organizational effectiveness, strategic execution, and sustainable results. Her ability to assess organizations, develop leaders, build effective teams, and translate vision into actionable systems has become a hallmark of her leadership approach.
The Impact
Nia’s leadership extends beyond organizational walls. As an elected school board member with more than eight years of service, she has served as Board President and chaired several key committees. Her governance experience has strengthened her expertise in strategic decision-making, organizational accountability, policy, and systems-level leadership while reinforcing her commitment to creating equitable opportunities for children, families, and communities.
The Legacy
Nia is an accomplished entrepreneur. Alongside her husband and children, she co-owns and operates businesses spanning personal care services, behavioral health, non-emergency medical transportation, and interstate logistics. Her entrepreneurial experience allows her to bring a unique perspective to executive coaching and business development—one grounded not only in leadership theory, but also in the realities of building organizations, managing people, developing systems, and pursuing sustainable growth.
A devoted wife and mother of two, Nia’s work is ultimately rooted in purpose, leadership, and impact. Whether developing executives, strengthening teams, transforming organizations, building businesses, or serving her community, she remains committed to helping people and organizations move from potential to performance—and from vision to lasting impact
